Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
Water - 1 cup
Salt - to taste
Oil - 2 tbsp
Egg - 1
Breadcrumbs - as required
Oil - for deep frying
Method:
1. Boil the fish along with water, salt, turmeric and red chilli powder. Allow it to cool for 7-8 minutes. Then de-bone it and keep aside.
2. In a kadai, heat 2 tbsp oil. Add the chopped onions, ginger, garlic, dry red chilli and curry leaves. Saute till the onions turn translucent.
3. Now, add the chopped spring onion stalks, coriander, cumin and garam masala powders. Mix well. Remove from heat. When cooled, blend to a fine paste.
4. In a bowl, take the de-boned fish, the blended paste, coriander leaves salt and the egg. Mix well. Roll them into sausage shaped croquettes.
5. In a kadai, heat oil. Roll the croquettes in breadcrumbs and release them slowly into the hot oil. Fry them till they turn golden brown.
6. Serve them hot with tomato sauce.
