Sliced Pork in Saucy Gravy

This recipe was conceptualized by my son, a staunch lover of pork and a really good cook!

Ingredients:
Pork: 1.5 kg, sliced into thin slices

For Boiling:
Ginger paste: 3/4 tbsp
Garlic paste: 1 tbsp
Onions: 2 medium size, chopped
Soya sauce: 1 tbsp
Honey: 2 tbsp
Black pepper powder: 1 tbsp
Black peppercorns:L 15 corns
Green chillies: 3, diced
Star Anise: 3
Salt: 1 tsp

For the Gravy:
Onions: 5, medium sized,finely chopped
Ginger paste: 1 tbsp
Garlic paste: 1 1/2 tbsp
Star Anise: 2
Soya sauce: 2 tbsp
Tomato sauce: 3 tbsp
Green chillies: 3, cut slanting
Corn flour powder: 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

Yummy Sliced Pork in a saucy gravy


Method:
1. Marinate the sliced pork pieces with all the ingredients in the cooker and keep aside for an hour.
2. Add 1 and 1/2 cup water and close the cooker, cook on high flame for 4 whistles and for 15 minutes on slow flame.
3. In a deep bottomed pan, add butter, when hot add the onions, star anise and stir till the onions are lightly browned.
4. Add the ginger garlic paste and stir well. Add the soya sauce, tomato sauce and mix well.
5. When the gravy starts to boil from the sides, add the cooked pork along witht the broth.
6. Mix well, cook on low flame for 5 minutes. Add the chillies and give it a quick stir.
7. Mix the corn flour in 1/8 cup of water, to a smooth mixture.
8. Add this to the cooking pork, keep stirring till the gravy thickens and a saucy gravy is got.
9.Transfer to a serving vessel. Serve hot with rice, chappatis.

P:S: You can add Capsicum/bell peppers if you wish to add colur and taste!
