Beef Pepper Masala


It 's a must-try recipe for those whose love black pepper! My son's favorite spice is black pepper and he keeps reminding it's 'black gold'. So, I got this recipe from a friend of mine. It' can be made lot more spicier by  adding more pepper powder! 



Ingredients:

For the Marination:
Beef: 1 and 1/2 kg
Black pepper powder: 2 tsp
Coriander powder: 1 and 1/4 tbsp
Cumin powder: 2 tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder: 2 tsp
Garam masala: 2 tsp
Green paste: 2 inch ginger, 15 garlic cloves,4 green chillies(ground)
Tomatoes: 2 big. diced
Salt: 2 tsp

For the Gravy:
Oil: 3 tbsp
Onions: 3 big, finely sliced
Sprig of curry leaves: 1
Water: 2 cups

For the Garnishing:
Pinch of pepper powder, to be sprinkled
Coriander leaves chopped finely: 2 tbsp

Method:
For Marination:

1. Coarsely grind together green chillies, ginger and garlic together.
2. In a bowl mix together green chilly mix, garam masala powder, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, coriander powder, chopped tomatoes and salt. Mix well and close with a transparent foil, for an hour.





3. In a cooker, heat oil, When hot add the sliced onions and curry leaves and saute till the onions are translucent.
4. Add the marinated meat, mix well, till the masala is well coated on the meat.
5. Pour  2 cups of water and mix well.
6. Close the cooker and cook on high flame for 5 whistles and 20 minutes on slow fire.
7. When the pressure is gone, open the cooker, keep it back on high flame and keep stirring till all the water has dried.
8. When the water is almost gone, sprinkle pepper powder on the meat and mix well.
9. Transfer to a serving dish, and garnish with coriander leaves.
10. Serve hot with rice, chappati or rotis.
