This is one of those recipes from my collection that I cook often. I got it from a friend of mine during our stay in Chennai. Here, the taste of the chicken gravy is uniquely defined by the roasted grams and coriander leaves. It's easy and tasty!!! Do try :)

Ingredients :
Chicken - 500 gm, cut into medium sized pieces
Onions - 2, mediun size, finely sliced
Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tbsp
Roasted gram (Putani) - 1 1/2 tbsp
Onion - 2 medium size
Tomato - 1, big
Tamarind - pearl size ball
Coconut - 1/2 cup, grated
Coriander leaves - half a bunch
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt- to taste

Method :
1. Blend the onions and roasted gram to a fine paste. It's the first paste.
2. Blend tomato,tamarind, coconut and coriander leaves to a smooth paste. It's the second paste.
3. In a pan heat oil add the sliced onions and saute till they turn brown. Add the ginger garlic paste and stir till the raw smell goes.
4. Add the first paste, and stir till an aromatic smell emanates.
5. Add the second paste and stir for 3-4 minutes continously. Add the chicken pieces and keep stirring without adding water for 10 minutes.
6. Now add half a cup of water and cover and cook till done, opening occasionally and adding a little water if needed.
7. Transfer to a serving dish. Serve hot with rice or chapatis.
