Prawns are my all-time favourite seafood and it's the same with my family too :) This is a recipe of my own that I cooked for the first time almost ten years ago. The stir-fried butter prawns are irresistibly yummy and if you are planning to have them as a starter, then cook a larger quantity as they will disappear in no time!
Preparation time - 10 minutes + 45 minutes of marination
Cooking time - 15-20 minutes
Ingredients :
Prawns - 500 gm
Lemon juice - 3 tsp
Dry red chillies - 3, for the paste
Garlic - 10 flakes
Coriander roots and stem - 6-7
Butter - 25 gm
Dry red chillies - 3, slantingly cut
Method:
1. Clean, de-vein and wash the prawns. Keep them in a colander so that the water drains.
2. Blend dry red chillies, garlic, coriander roots and stems along with lemon juice to a coarse paste. In a bowl, marinate the prawns along with the paste. Refrigerate for 30-45 minutes.
3. In a pan, heat the butter. Add the cut dry red cillies and stir fry them for a minute. Add the marinated prawns along with the marinade.
4. Stir fry till all the liquid evaporates. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve as a starter!
