Village Style Prawn and Egg Curry

This recipe is one from my collections. It is an easy but tasty recipe, made by basic spices used in our daily cooking. The spices blend well with the other ingredients of the gravy. It's different as eggs are used in this gravy.....

Ingredients:

Eggs: 4-5, hard boiled
Prawns: 1 kg
Shallots: 1 and 1/2 cup finely chopped
Green chilli: 2 slit
Kashmir dry red chilli: 12- 14(soaked in warm water)
Poppy seeds: 1 tbsp
Garlic: 12- 15 cloves
Ginger: 1/2 inch piece
Cloves:10 cloves
Cinnamon: 1 inch piece
Coriander powder: 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves: 3 tbsp, finely chopped

Method:

1. Grind the red chilli to a fine paste. Grind the ginger garlic to a fine paste. Grind the poppy seeds, cloves and cinnamon to a smooth paste.
2. Clean, de-vein and wash the prawns. Smear them with a little and turmeric powder and keep aside.
3. In an earthen vessel heat oil, add the boiled eggs and stir fry till they are golden, remove and keep aside.
4. Add the shallots and green chilies and saute till they are light brown in color.Add the ginger garlic paste and stir till the raw smell is gone.
5. Add the red chilli paste, turmeric and coriander powders and stir till  the oil floats. Add the poppy seed paste and saute till you get an aroma of the spices . Add the prawns and salt and mix well, close and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.
6. Add the coriander leaves and mix, cook for 2-3 minutes and put off the fire.
7. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve hot with rice or chapatis.
